Holistic and body-based approach, in French, English or Spanish.

Portrait de Loïc ESPINOSA

Who am I?

Shiatsu practitioner trained at the French Shiatsu Institute (IFS – Michel Odoul)

I have worked as a translator for many years, and four years ago I began training in listening to the language of the body and in body-based work.

This path led me to train in shiatsu and in a psycho-body approach at the Institut Français du Shiatsu (IFS), founded by Michel Odoul in Paris.

Based in Japan since 2025, I now offer sessions for an international clientele, within a holistic, personalized, and non-medical approach.

Living as an expat in Tokyo is an adventure that can challenge your inner balance. To provide you with the best possible support in your own language, I offer consultations in French, English, and Spanish.

As my level of Japanese is still limited, I do not yet offer sessions in Japanese.

What is shiatsu?

Shiatsu is a Japanese bodywork approach based on pressure applied with the thumbs and palms of the hands, as well as gentle stretching.

How does this differ from the shiatsu offered in Japan?

In Japan, shiatsu is an officially recognized technique within the healthcare system. It is therefore regulated (similar to physiotherapy in France) and requires a diploma issued by the Japan Shiatsu College for example. It is considered a medical practice. My approach is rooted in a wellness perspective: it places significant emphasis on the consultation to understand your history, your specific needs, and your expectations, which will then guide the technical choices.

How does a session unfold?

Each session begins with a discussion, allowing us to better understand your request and your context.

The bodywork is then carried out through gentle pressure, mobilizations, and stretches best suited to your needs.

The session takes place fully clothed or, depending on the techniques used, in underwear, on a futon or table, in a calm and supportive environment.
Comfortable and appropriate clothing is recommended.

“I had several shiatsu sessions with him between 2024 and 2025, and each time I left feeling a genuine sense of well-being. He masters several techniques and brings a perceptive, insightful perspective, always explained with clarity. Serious, attentive, and highly professional, you can feel that he truly loves what he does and is driven by a genuine desire to help. I would recommend him to anyone wishing to take care of their body and overall balance, whether for specific aches and pains or for general well-being.”

Fabrice Oliya (Paris)

“A serious, caring, and dedicated shiatsu practitioner. His approach is gentle, and you feel at ease from the very beginning of the session.

I experienced a real sense of letting go and a renewed feeling of energy in the days that followed. I would return without hesitation.”

Leila Haouala (Manosque)

“I consulted Loïc Espinosa for sleep disorders and anxiety-depressive symptoms following a burnout.

I found him to be a caring, serious, and educational practitioner who always took the time to explain his approach. The sessions helped me better understand the connections between mental distress and its effects on the body. A genuine sense of relief followed these consultations.

In the end, I only regret one thing: that I was only able to see him twice before his departure to Japan!”
